Students in National classes study the folk dances of Europe, alongside each country’s geography, music, costume and history. Great fun for all, a National class will have your child working as a member of a group, moving confidently and rhythmically whilst developing spacial awareness and coordination.
Pupils are entered for ISTD examinations at all levels from Primary to Advanced 2. If you would like to find out more about these dance examinations, please contact us.

Classical Greek Dance
A fascinating insight into the ancient civilisation of the Greeks through its rituals and culture, this dance style was created in the early twentieth century by Ruby Ginner, and is carried forward into the twenty first century by a vibrant and enthusiastic teaching membership.
A wide range of dancing styles
Dancers in these classes study seven varied styles – lyrical, athletic, bacchic, tragic, choric, pyrrhic and ritual. Greek is a free, dynamic and natural way to dance; one which encourages self-expression and dramatic ability.
